Disclaimer:
Though this is just a formality that we
bloggers have to do, nevertheless it should be taken seriously. The
procedure given below is not for perfect JERKS so do not proceed unless
you understand what you are really going to do. Rooting voids the
warranty of a device but you can later reclaim it by installing the stock firmware back.
Preparations to be Made:
- Download Odin: Odin3-v3.07.zip
- Download CWM Touch Recovery based on your phone model and extract the zip on your desktop:
- Galaxy Mega 5.8 GT-I9152: GT-I9152-recovery.tar.md5
- Galaxy Mega 6.3 GT-I9205: GT-I9205-recovery.tar.md5
- Download Chainfire’s SuperUser rooting package and copy it to your phone: UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.34.zip
- Download and install Samsung Kies or USB drivers on your computer: Download
- Enable USB Debugging on your Galaxy Mega. You can do this from Settings> More> Developer Options. If you do not see the option under Settings, see how to enable it:
- Charge your phone to have at least 60% battery.
Install CWM Recovery on Galaxy Mega:
Once you have taken care of the above preparatory steps, you can now move on to the real action. First of all, we’ll install ClockworkMod touch recovery on the phone and then root it. Here is how you can do it:
- Turn off the phone and boot the device in Download mode: press Volume Down+Home+Power buttons for about 2-3 seconds till you see a warning screen and then press Volume Up.
- Now launch the Odin3 3.07 and connect the phone to PC using USB cable.
- Wait till the ID:COM port on Odin turns Blue.
- Do not mess with anything else on the Odin and click the PDA button and select the Recovery file.
- Finally click the Start button and wait till installation is finished and you see PASS!! message on Odin.
- Wait till the device boots up.
Rooting Galaxy Mega:
Your phones should now have CWM recovery and the next step is to root the device by installing SuperSU through recovery.- Copy the “UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.34.zip” file to your phone.
- Turn off your phone and boot it into recovery mode: press Volume Up+Home+Power buttons together for about 5 seconds till you enter recovery menu.
- Use the Volume and Power keys to scroll and select options in the recovery mode.
- Go to “install zip from sdcard> choose zip from sdcard” option and select the SuperSU zip file.
- On the next screen, select “yes” to confirm installation.
- Finally, go back to main menu and select “reboot system now”.
When your Galaxy Mega boots up, it should have SuperUser app installed on it. Enjoy!

- Now extract the “UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.34.zip” file and copy the “Superuser.apk” to your phone.

This Is HERE a guide about how to use sd card as internal memory,,basically this mod will reverse and make your phone think that sd card is your internal memory!!
Galaxy S Duos have a big problem of small internal memory of 1.8GB and u can t install high games on it like NFS MW which is 2GB so, This Mod Will Allow You,To Make U DO THAT!
Requirments: (things you'll need before doing this mod)
You'll need to be rooted, have root explorer installed and of course a micro sd card in your tab:
Instructions:
- Download and unzip the attached file and put it in the root of your internal sdcard (/mnt/sdcard)
- Open root explorer and navigate to /mnt/sdcard (if its not already there) tap and hold on the file instability ll_recovery.sh and pick the copy option
- Now navigate to the /etc folder tap the Mount r/w button
- Find the install_recovery.sh file tap and hold it, then select the option rename. Change the name to install_recovery.bak and then tap paste to copy over the new file.
Now look just under the file, you'll see the date and permissions, it should say something like rwxrwxrwx if it does not you'll need to tap and hold the file tap permissions and check all three boxes for read and execute.
Once you've done the above steps reboot and wait about a minute after your tab comes up, goto settings and look at your storage space to see if the internal space size has changed.
To reverse just delete the install_recovery.sh file, rename the backed up one and reboot. If you decide to keep this mod, you'll want to copy the contents of /mnt/external_sd to /mnt/sdcard so you dont loose any of your app data. Also, you'll no longer need GL 2 SD or any other mod to fetch data from your micro sdcard.
Note: if you have problems deleting or writing to /mnt/external_sd after doing this mod, in root explorer goto /mnt press Mount R/W tap and hold on external_sd and choose permissions. Make sure that all boxes for read and write are checked.
You can use this in conjunction with ICS, its been tested and works great (actually improved my bench scores in antutu benchmark). You can merge the system r/w mod with this one to keep your system read /writable (in ICS) just add the system r/w commands to the end of this install-recovery.sh file.

Guide: How To Root GALAXY GRAND DUOS
And Install CWM (GT-I9082)(NOT FOR GRAND QUATTRO)
The
Galaxy Grand Duos users can now root their devices and install
ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery on their devices. Having rooted the device
users will be able to install any app that requires root permission and
custom ROMs can be installed using the CWM recovery.And Install CWM (GT-I9082)(NOT FOR GRAND QUATTRO)
Those who wish to root and install CWM recovery on their
Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos may follow our step-by-step guide. The
tutorial uses CWM touch recovery file shared by senior XDA developer, Mayank and SuperSU file by recognised XDA developer, chainfire.
1) Install USB Driver for Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos to connect the Android device with computer.2) Enable USB Debugging Mode on the phone to connect it with the computer and use Android SDK with it. [Press Menu>> Settings>> Applications. From there navigate and click on Development option and ensure the USB Debugging Mode is turned on.]
3) As the tutorial might wipe all data of the phone, create a back-up. If the device is having any custom recoveries such as CWM/TWRP already installed then backup data using the recovery.
4) The Galaxy Grand Duos should have above 80 per cent of battery charge.
5) Rooting the phone will void manufacturer's warranty. However, users can reclaim the warranty back by unrooting the device later on.
6) The CWM touch recovery file and the SuperSU file work only with Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos GT-I9082. Flashing this on incorrect variant might brick the device. Therefore, verify the model number of Galaxy device by navigating to Settings>> About Phone>> Model number.

Download ClockworkMod Touch Recovery file [File name: CWM_gt_i9802.tar.md5]
Download the CWM flashable SuperUser file for root access to the computer. Then copy the downloaded zip file to either internal or external memory of the phone. But do not extract the zip

Steps to install CWM recovery on Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos GT-I9082
Step-1: Turn off the Galaxy Grand Duos. Then boot the phone into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Up and Home buttons together then hold the Power button for three seconds. A warning screen will appear. Now press the Volume Up button to continue to enter Download Mode
Step-2: Open the Odin folder and launch Odin3 v3.04.exe
Step-3: Connect the phone to the computer using USB cable. Wait for some time until Odin detects the phone. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box in Odin will turn blue. Also, the successful connection will be indicated by an Added message in Odin
Note: If the Added message does not come then try another USB port, try the one located at the back side of the computer. In case Odin still fails to recognise the device then reinstall USB driver.
Step-4: In Odin, click the PDA button and select the CWM_gt_i9082.tar.md5 file
Step-5: Ensure that the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time check boxes are selected in Odin window
Step-6: Finally hit the Start button in Odin. The installation process should begin now and would take few minutes to complete
Step-7: Once the installation process is completed, a PASS message will appear under Odin indicating successful installation. The phone will then reboot automatically. Now unplug the USB cable from the phone to disconnect it from the computer
Steps to root Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos GT-I9082
Step-1: Switch off the phone and boot it into CWM recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Up and Home buttons together and then hold the Power button. Keep pressing the three buttons until the screen of the phone turns up and Samsung logo blinks twice. Now release the Power button but keep the other two buttons pressed until a list of options in blue texts with black background with Android bot appears
Step-2: In the recovery mode, select install zip from sdcard then select choose zip from sdcard. Now navigate to the UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.25.zip and select it using the Power button. Then confirm installation by selecting Yes
Step-3: The installation process should begin now and would take few seconds to complete
Step-4: Once the installation process is completed, click on Go Back to return to the recovery menu and then select reboot system now to reboot the phone
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos will now reboot and a message saying Android is upgrading will appear while the device boots up. Open the app drawer of the phone and tap on SuperSU app and update the binary if prompted. Also, to verify the root status, install Root Checker app from Google play Store.
But every time Apple does this song and dance, we seem to sit throughout the keynote going, “Whoa, that’s been on Android forever.” Or even, “Umm, that looks just like how Android works.” Today was no different. While iOS 7 looks nice from the outside, many of the new goodies remind us a lot of our favorite mobile OS.
And not that we should need to remind you, but don’t take this too seriously. We’re just having some fun and pointing out things that gave us a chuckle. We are happy to see iOS evolve, just like we will be happy to see every other mobile OS evolve. Companies pushing boundaries and taking features to new levels is what we love about this industry.
Quick Toggles (Command Center)
Apple is adding in a gesture for accessing Command Center from anywhere on an iOS device. A quick swipe up from the bottom of the screen and you are graced with a panel filled with toggles for Airplane mode, WiFi, Bluetooth, brightness settings, music controls, camera shortcut, and even a flashlight. As you all know, Android devices have had access to similar information for a while thanks to 3rd party skins from manufacturers. But in Android 4.2, Google introduced a panel as well that can be accessed with a two-finger swipe down from the notification bar. Music controls have been in the notification bar for some time, so that’s not necessarily new.
Lock Screen Notifications
I found this out today, but apparently iOS did not let you access their notification center from the lock screen. Android has been on this trend for at least two versions, but Apple is just now introducing it with iOS 7. Once released, iOS users will be able to swipe down their notification bar without unlocking their device.
The new notification center has done away with that terrible looking felt background and is more transparent. There are tabs for “Today,” “All,” and “Missed.” I like the idea of panels, though Android seems to have been able to handle all of this information without needing extra panels. Thanks to actionable and collapsable notifications on Android, you only need one area for all of this.
Safari vs. Chrome
Safari is Safari – most people can’t stand it and prefer browsers like Chrome for their browsing needs. But one thing we thought was interesting in the new UI of Safari, was the tab view that shows all open tabs. They bragged about the 3D appearance, scrolling, and quick access to other tabs yet we have had this in Chrome for Android since it was first released over a year ago.
Multi-tasking
Multi-tasking! iOS 7 has a new style of multi-tasking that only runs in the background when it thinks you want access to frequently used apps. It essentially learns from your patterns to help extend your battery life. That’s kind of cool, assuming it can learn properly, which we won’t know anything about until people can spend some time with it. But in general, we like the idea of phones learning our patterns to better optimize our lives with them.
But in terms of a UI, Apple created something semi-unique. It’s not an exact copy of Android, since it scrolls horizontally and features full-screen previews of currently running apps. It does look a lot like what HTC did back with Sense 4, though HTC abandoned the look after hearing pretty terrible reviews of the change.
iTunes Radio vs. Google Music
Apple did in fact announce a Pandora competitor this morning called iTunes Radio. It’s really not all that game-changing or innovative. You can create your own radio playlists based off of songs, or you can use recommended stations that Apple has ready to go. There are massive “BUY” buttons all over the place, along with ads, unless you are an iTunes Match customer. But you can’t save full albums or tracks to your library like you can with Google’s new All Access service, nor can you pick and choose specific songs to create playlists. It’s just like Pandora in that it brings up songs that it thinks match what you are looking for and then allows you to downvote them or favorite them, so that they’ll play more often. It’s a nice add-on to iTunes, but nothing new.
In terms of looks, the new Google Music and new Music apps look a lot a like. We’re seeing white menus and similar UI with big, bold album art.
Also, we should point out that Google Music All Access gives you unlimited access to albums and songs because it comes with a monthly fee.
While I don’t know how many people actually use the stock Mail app in iOS, it’s easy to see that they have stolen features from the popular iOS app called Mailbox. Apple added in swiping gestures, for deleting, archiving, and “More” options. It’s a complete copy of what Mailbox already made popular, and I can’t believe people aren’t throwing massive fits over this. But then again, this is what Apple does time and time again to its developer community.
Oh, and Gmail has had swipe-to-delete/archive for longer than I can recall.
Calendars
The new iOS Calendar app doesn’t look all that much like that of Android, but the similarities are still there. We’re looking at an ultra-minimal design, with flat rectangles, pastel-ish colors, and a white background rather than the round appearance of the current iOS Calendar app. And in fact, the newest Calendar app from Google has similar design in the circular color picker and date chooser to what we are seeing in iOS, only it came out a couple of weeks ago.
Navigation Drawers
Apple added a bunch of slideout navigation drawers to apps like Mail and iMessage. We have seen these in Google apps for over a year now (even the ones on iOS), but they made a point of the addition today as if it were something “new” to app development. No, Apple, it’s not new.

How to make it transparent:
First, install Xposed Framework from here.
Install the apk and then tap on "Install/Update", grant root access:
Reboot.
Now, download Tweakbox from here and install.
Go to Xposed Installer, tap on "Modules" and enable Tweakbox. Reboot again.
When it finish boot, tap on Tweakbox app, tap on Statusbar:
Set background color to fully alpha, and clock color to white, go back and reboot!
Note, if you get a black statusbar after reboot, just pull down the notification bar and whoala! it cames transparent.
